Charis Kehrer joins R.G. Miller | DCCM as GIS Specialist
Charis Kehrer has joined R. G. Miller | DCCM as a Geographic Information Systems Specialist.
With nearly six years of experience in GIS, Charis will be working on a number of projects, including utility network mapping and helping to develop a Land Exploration and Analysis Program (LEAP), which will provide data exhibits to help in land purchase decisions.
Charis grew up in Fort Hood, Texas, where her father was in the military. She later moved to Georgia, where she attended Georgia College and State University, graduating with a B.S. degree in Biology and a minor in Political Science. She went on to pursue a Master of Science degree at Texas A&M University, where she earned her degree in Water Management and Hydrological Science with a Certificate in GIS.
She became interested in GIS while developing location maps for her master’s project and decided to pursue it as a career. She has subsequently worked for both data management and civil engineering firms.
Charis has many interests outside of work. She plays tennis, runs, and works out, reads novels and loves puzzles. She is learning to play golf and works at a golf course on weekends. Her long-term non-work goal is to take flying lessons and become a pilot.
