R.G. Miller Engineers’ Transportation/Traffic Department is currently designing two projects for Fort Bend County as part of its 2017 Mobility Bond Program. The first project involves the widening of Ransom Road in Precinct 1 near State Highway 99/Grand Parkway and I-69/U.S. 59. The existing three-lane roadway will become a four-lane boulevard. The project also includes designing a storm drainage system.
The second project, in Precinct 4, will involve reconstruction a two-mile stretch of Beechnut Street, which is currently a two-lane asphalt road. The road will be reconstructed to be four lanes, also with a storm drainage system and possibly a modern roundabout intersection at Peek and Mason roads.
Construction on both projects will begin in 2020.
