Fort Bend Rainbow Room Partners with the Texas Council of Child Welfare Boards to Distribute Computers Donated by R.G. Miller Engineers
R.G. Miller Engineers has donated computers – laptops, desktops, and Surface Pros – to The Fort Bend Rainbow Room, which is a charitable organization dedicated to helping children and families in crisis by supporting the efforts of caseworkers. The Rainbow Room will partner with the Fort Bend – Council of Child Welfare Board in an effort to distribute computers to those clients who have chosen to further their education by attending a community college or four-year university.
The computers are reformatted RGME computers, said Ashley Hinkle, the firm’s IT Coordinator.
“Every four years, we replace the workstations that our employees use to make sure we stay up-to-date with technology,” she said, adding that the machines are then sent out to be professionally wiped and ready for use.
The Fort Bend Rainbow Room is located within the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) building in Rosenberg, Texas and is stocked with emergency supplies caseworkers may distribute to Fort Bend families in crisis. Charity organizations such as The Rainbow Room rely heavily upon the generosity of the community through fundraising and donations to provide for these needs.
Local non-profit organizations are a great place to donate new and “gently” used office equipment and furniture. Updated technology is expensive, constantly changing and much needed by non-profits such as The Rainbow Room. RGME is proud to serve local charitable organizations, that serve others within the communities we work and live.
