Rgme Helps Retired Army Veteran With Flood Cleanup In Hard-Hit Katy Community
On Saturday, September 23, six employees from R. G. Miller Engineers, along with four University of Houston student members of the American Society of Civil Engineers, volunteered to assist in the cleanup of a retired Army veteran’s home in the Canyon Gates community in Katy. Canyon Gates was one of numerous communities devastated by flooding during Hurricane Harvey.
The request to help came from the Fort Bend CORPS “Hearts & Hammers” program – one of two organizations that RGME employees are working with on Harvey recovery and rebuilding efforts.
Volunteersreservedtwo Saturday morningsto help with gutting and cleaning the home.The homeowner, Mr. Bishop, was very appreciative. He has lived in the house for 20 years.
RGME volunteers included: Andrew Paderanga, Ashley Hinkle, Cezar Quintero, Jason Johnson, Leslie Cline, and Michael Bloom. Students included: Christopher Pham, Louis Mui, Mehdi Kettain, and Patrick Hoang.
