RGME PARTNERS WITH HEROES FOR CHILDREN HOUSTON IN ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT
R. G. Miller Engineers has once again partnered with HEROES for Children Houston for the Texas 1800 Challenge, the nonprofit organization’s new annual fundraising drive.
HEROES for Children supports families in Texas who have a child affected by cancer, providing tangible support to families struggling to pay rent, utilities, groceries, and more, as well as intangible connections through social programs. The goal of the Texas 1800 Challenge is to raise $2 million by 2025 – enough to meet the needs of all 1800 Texas families who have a child with cancer.
Jason Johnson, P.E., Team Leader for RGME’s Land Development Department, serves as co-chair for each year’s HEROES for Children Houston’s fundraising event, which this year was a walking/running event – Team Houston Walking Heroes 1800 — held April 3 at Memorial Park. Participants donated $50 to register and raised money through sponsorships for themselves and their teams. This year’s fundraising challenge, which ends April 18, has so far raised $129,200 of its $180,000 goal for 2021.
